Why Atonement?

Transforming student lives and the greater community, Atonement Lutheran delivers outstanding academics rooted in Christianity. At 400+ students and growing, our top-rated performance is creating a demand for an Atonement education.

Centered around God, our academic instruction challenges students in every subject, while helping them to achieve the ultimate goal of our faith – spending eternity with Jesus in Heaven.

Our students are the future of Milwaukee and engage in rigorous, well-rounded studies that properly prepare them for the next step in their academic careers. Most Atonement parents couldn’t imagine their child attending school anywhere else.

How to Enroll

Open Enrollment runs from February through September, the 1st-20th of each month. Families are welcome to stop by or call the school office Monday through Friday, 7:30 am–4:00 pm, to schedule a tour.

To begin the enrollment process NEW families must first schedule a tour and submit the student registration form (one per child enrolling) along with applicable grade reports, test scores, and IEP's from previous schools. If applicable, Milwaukee Parental Choice Program/Wisconsin Parental Choice Program applications should also be submitted during the open enrollment period. The school will process the enrollment and MPCP/WPCP application and notify you of your child's acceptance into the school and of any additional forms that are needed to complete the registration process.

Please note that prekindergarten (K3) students need to enroll through the Early Childhood Center (ECC).

Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (MPCP) and Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) (non-Milwaukee residents)

If your family is applying for the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program or the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (non-Milwaukee residents) for full tuition payment, you must:

  • Apply online on the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Website. This must be done for all new and returning MPCP/WPCP students.
  • After the MPCP/WPCP application is completed, print out your confirmation and follow the instructions regarding submitting the appropriate paperwork to the school office for verification.
  • Returning MPCP/WPCP students will only need verification of Milwaukee residence /non-Milwaukee residence (current WE bill, pay stub with address, water bill, lease or rental agreement).
  • New students to MPCP/WPCP must submit proof of income (Federal Form 1040 or W2s if taxes have not been filed), proof of Milwaukee residency/non-Milwaukee residency (current WE bill, pay stub with address, water bill, lease or rental agreement), and a certified copy of the student’s birth certificate.

The Atonement school registration, MPCP online application, and the submission of supporting paperwork to the office must be in by the 20th of every month, February through September to be considered.  If applying for WPCP note that the application window only runs from the 1st-20th of every month from February through April!

Parents will receive a written letter within 60 days of rejection or acceptance to MPCP/WPCP and to Atonement as seats are available.

After school care enrollment

The Early Childhood Center is also home to our Before and After School Care program. Serving all Atonement students through 12 years of age, this state-licensed program provides a safe and comfortable environment for children before and after school. Accommodating parents’ busy schedules, Before Care begins at 7 am and After Care ends at 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday during the school year.

The Before/After School program offers numerous teacher-facilitated activities and important homework help. Students have access to whatever resources they need to excel in their academia. An after-school snack is also provided.
